Yvette Sonneveld has been highly active in the WordPress community over the past five years. When she moved back to The Netherlands after having lived abroad for almost 15 years, she barely knew anyone in the field of online marketing in The Netherlands and Europe. Contributing to the WordPress community helped her in countless ways. She currently works as teamlead community for Yoast.

Yvette has been using WordPress since 2006. At that time it took almost 9 months to get hand coded websites listed with Google. As soon as she learned WordPress sites got listed within 24 hours, she created her first WordPress site, it did get listed within 24 hours and she never looked back.
Yvette’s first time volunteering at a WordCamp was in 2014, in Miami. In 2017, she attended her first Contributor Day at WordCamp Europe, joined the WordPress Marketing Team, was a first time speaker at WordCamp Nijmegen, a first time organizer at WordCamp Utrecht and a first time EmCee, also at WordCamp Utrecht. She continued contributing, speaking, and stretching her comfort zone and is planning to do so for a long time to come.
